Fitness for Mommies was created for the woman athlete and mother. It is my desire on this website to offer information, articles, tips, and inspiration to all of you to get outside and get fit!
A little history…
I am passionate about all things related to fitness, cycling, running, yoga, and pilates. In addition, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Cal Poly Pomona. From 1996-2006, I taught physical education and elementary education.
My college career included two years of cross country running and two years of bicycle racing. In 1998, I qualified for and competed in Collegiate Nationals in Durango, Colorado. I’ve run three marathons with a PR of 4:11, the last one was six months after the birth of my first child (3 runs a week!). As a family, we’ve traveled all over Italy with bicycles and have ridden with notable people such as Connie Carpenter, Davis Phinney, and Andy Hampsten.
My current athletic goals for 2008 will be to run a 21 minute 5km, have fun racing my bike for Velo Bella, complete the Redlands Triathlon in under 1 hour (GOAL MET: 56:23), participate in as many local running races as possible, and finish the California International Marathon in under 4 hours in December.
